2020 Spring & Summer

It has been a while since my last post.  For various reasons, we have not been traveling much, but we got started  again and have been living in our motorhome since July.  I tried using our new phone for photos but have not been satisfied with the quality so I have gone back to using my camera.  The quality will be be better for the latter images.

Those of you that follow us on Facebook will have seen some of these pictures before.  Sorry for the duplication, but we have more people that  follow our blog than follow us on Facebook and this blog is a good place to store my photos.

While we were still in our winter quarters in Surprise AZ, we had a very good spring flower bloom.

Even our palm tree bloomed

We traveled to Utah.

We tried to observe social distancing while eating lunch.

We like rocks.  Big Rocks.  The bigger the better.

At the junction of two dirt roads, in the middle of nowhere, we discovered this wonderful sculpture.

One of our favorite things to do is to find rock art panels.   This one,  called the Buckhorn Wash Panel, is sadly fading away.  It is not protected by a rock overhang like most panels and has be subjected to rain, wind and sun for 2000 years.

After a short stay in South Dakota, we moved on to Wyoming.  This shot of our GPS shows that we found one of our favorite types of roads.

On top of an almost 10,000 mountain is the Wyoming Medicine Wheel.  No one knows who built it or how old it is,but some say it could be 5000 years old.   Native Americans consider it sacred and hold ceremonies here, but they also do not know who built it or for what purpose.  Better overhead photos and more interesting information can be found on the internet.

A high altitude lunch spot.

From Wyoming we moved to Montana.  I will continue to write about our summer travels in my next post.
